Concept & Approach

ProgressNow of Southern New Mexico reached out to NMCO for a Halloween themed campaign addressing issues with big oil. From there, NMCO developed a plan for a campaign featuring an Oil and Gas CEO wreaking havoc on Halloween night. The series is lighthearted and humorous, showcasing the CEO in different scenarios that represent Big Oils shortcomings through Halloween themes. For example, Big Oil gets more candy than ever, which translates to Big Oil making more money than ever. Or CEO leaving candy wrappers everywhere, pointing out the destruction of our environment. The CEO will be the villain throughout Halloween night, with three hero trick-or-treaters informing each other, and the audience, of the realities of CEO and Big Oil.

Videography

On Halloween evening, the sky is tinted blue after a New Mexican Sunset, and kids are running around in delight (mostly). This three-part series covers topics such as profits, lobbying, and pollution. These issues are personified by a character called Big Oil. Big oil is creating havoc throughout the neighborhood and is being observed by our group of Hero Kids. Hero Kids, through their dialogue, educates the audience about Big Oil and how adults should consider a change.

Website

Crude Intentions needed a webpage that could seamlessly showcase videos, incorporate a petition form to encourage individuals to join their cause, and maintain a visual aesthetic consistent with the overall campaign theme. Utilizing floating, oily Halloween assets, and capitalizing on the dramatic imagery, NMCO Studio was able to maximize the campaign’s deliverables and give users an interactive experience.

Through the use of the campaign videos, users were able to learn more about the cause and grab quick facts. At the end of the webpage, we included a form for users to submit their names to be a part of the change needed in New Mexico.
