Overview

The Town of Mesilla had an existing website but found it limiting, with no dynamic fillable forms, hard to access information for residents, and a lack of a real visual direction, making it confusing for tourism visitors. Their goal was to create a digital platform that is easy to navigate, visually clean, well-organized, and authentically reflective of Mesilla’s rich cultural heritage. The Town of Mesilla hired NMCO to develop a comprehensive website redesign to better serve its two primary audiences: residents and tourists.

Concept & Approach

For the Town of Mesilla we centered on designing a user-friendly, visually engaging website that serves both the residents of Mesilla and visitors from outside the area. This is why we integrated plugins that focused on accessibility and language translation. The site needed to be clean, organized, and easy to navigate, making it simple for users to find what they need quickly and efficiently.

For residents, we focused on functionality, providing easy access to city news, forms, utility payments, and other essential services. This was achieved by including a search feature within the website for users to easily access the page they needed. We also created over 20 digital forms that residents can submit directly through the website, helping keep the Mesilla community connected and engaged.

For visitors, we showcased Mesilla’s charm through vibrant photography and inviting pages that highlight the town’s culture and attractions. This was accomplished by creating custom post types for dining, shopping, and news.

We also integrated a live social media feed to keep the site dynamic and connected to the community. The result is a responsive, modern website that feels welcoming, works seamlessly across all devices, and reflects the heart of Mesilla.
